Today I will be reviewing two separate Innisfree products for the lasheesssss. Shock horror right? I always seem to review lip products more than anything.
The Jumbo Mascara Volumer contains 9g of product and is marketed as a white colored mascara base aimed to prime and add volume to the lashes. I also tried the ever so famous Skinny Waterproof Microcara which is a slim mascara great for achieving a clean natural, clump free look. It is also made for getting to very fine inner and lower lashes. It contains 4g of product and is packaged in a very slim and streamlined bottle.
I decided to test these both on different eyes. One eye will have both the jumbo mascara volumer and the skinny waterproof microcara applied whilst the other eye will have only the skinny waterpoof microcara and nothing else.
Here are my very fine asian lashes, curled to the best of my ability. It is important to note that I also have monolids, trust me... it makes a difference to how lifted the lashes are naturally.
Let's first take a look at the volumer, here I am applying it onto my lashes. The brush is large and fluffy and paints a thin white coating onto the lashes. The thick formula however appears to weigh down my lashes and you will see in the pictures below that the curl I had tried so hard to achieve has failed after applying the volumer.
I then went ahead and applied the skinny waterproof microcara on top of the volumer, The brush for the microcara is so fine and tiny and is really fabulous at getting into the ever-so-fine mini lashes on the inner corners. Not to mention, it works really well for the lower lashes too!
Here are the results after applying the microcara over the base.
Now... for the big moment, I curled my lashes on my opposite eye and applied ONLY the skinny waterproof microcara. See below how the lashes maintained their curl, making my eyes look wider and more awake? You can see how different the lengths are between the two eyes.
Overall, I'm loving the Skinny waterproof microcara, the formula is lightweight, thin, easy to apply and who doesn't love a waterproof mascara? I love how it lengthens and holds the curl and doesn't clump together like other mascaras. My score for this product would be 4.3/5! The only reason it doesn't receive a perfect score is because my favorite mascara in the world is still the Fairydrops and I have high standards after trying that one. Still, this one is really lovely if you want to achieve that natural everyday look during the daytime.
The Jumbo mascara volumer on the other hand, not for me. Especially when my lashes cannot handle any wet and weighty formulas that may drag them down. To me, holding the curl is most important in order for my lashes to show. They could be the longest lashes in the world, but if they droop down, the result is the same as short stubby lashes. Another thing to note though is that I have monolids, so naturally my lashes don't have that extra lift to them that double eyelids provide. My overall score for this product would be 2.5/5. The amount of 'volume' it adds to my lashes isn't even that much.
Hope you enjoyed this post and found it helpful, I'm a lip junkie so this is my first eye product review hehe.
Love, Allee
