Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture #52 Rosy Coral
Laneige Serum Intense Lipstick #YR25 Neon Orange
Yves Saint Laurent Rouge Pur Couture #52 Rosy Coral
First let's take a look at the beautiful YSL Rouge Pur Couture lipstick in #52 Rosy Coral, the appearance is so classy and looks expensive from the reflective gold and rectangular packaging. I also love how the YSL emblem is engraved on the front of the bullet. It smells slightly floral.
Being a YSL lipstick though, the price tag is set at a whopping $55 AUD.

Swatched on my hand you can instantly see the intense pigmentation and a slight sheen. It's not glossy, but not matte either, I would say it's a satin finish.
I applied it firstly with a sheer layer just to show you a less dramatic, toned down version on my lips. Bear in mind though, Jun Ji Hyun may have paired this lipstick with a gloss as her lips look more glassy on the pictures.
Here is it applied in full application, the colour from the bullet tranfers wonderfully to the lips. I feel like this particular shade of pink actually adds brightness to the complexion. This would be a great lippie to use on sick days when the skin is feeling dull and sallow.
In terms of the performance of the lipstick, I am completely happy with the results and the colour! I can imagine this being a springtime essential shade. The only drawback is of course the price tag, but if you are a big fan of YSL lipsticks, then I say save some extra money and add this baby to your collection :)
If you cannot find this in stores, try having a look at the YSL Rouge Volupte in #33 Rose Neillia. They are pretty much identical!

Laneige Serum Intense Lipstick #YR25 Neon Orange
Next up, let's have a look at the funky bright orange lipstick from Laneige. After looking up several korean beauty websites online, the serum intense line usually ranges from $25 USD to $28 USD. This is considered a high end lipstick in Korea, however it is still quite affordable and trust me, well worth the money!
The packaging of this one to me is very sleek, stylish and chic with its platinum silver packaging. It has a modern and fresh feel to it and the case is very sturdy and good quality.
Here it is swatched on the back of my hand, and the colour description matches it quite well. It is a very bright, fun mid tone orange with a hint of a reddish undertone. This formula is much more creamy and soft and glides on seamlessly. There is no obvious scent associated with this lipstick either.
And here it is on my lips in full blown application. I love the healthy shine it gives and it is very moisturizing, however I wouldn't say this is super long lasting.
Overall I love this lipstick so so much! It is a wonderful alternative to a classic red, if you're in a fun and energetic mood, definitely look for an orange like this one! It's a great shade for summer or when you need that pick-me-up for the day. If given the chance I would definitely like to try more shades from the Serum Intense collection. Laneige never fails to please in the lip department!
Pros
- Bright and refreshing color
- Soft and silky formula, easy to apply and glides on like a dream
- Moisturizing
- Gives a slight glossy shine
- Decent price for the quality of the lipstick
Cons
- Has a wear time of approximately 2 hours, not designed to last long hours.
Overall Rating: 4.8/5
Are you a fan of the drama? Give these lipsticks a try, I guarantee that you will love them!
Love, Allee
